ACT Government LGBTIQA+ Strategy and Action Plan design 

In 2024, Jacq worked with the ACT Government on their LGBTIQA+ Strategy 2024-29 and Action plan - outlining their ongoing commitment to improving the lives of LGBTIQA+ people throughout the ACT.

As a proud queer designer, it was a great opportunity to work with the team that drove this project, working in consultation with the Canberra LGBTIQA+ community. We wanted to create a resource that embraces the stories of LGBTIQA+ people – that they are resilient, proud and embedded in all aspects of ACT community life. Illustrations of rainbow families, drag story time, and older people against iconic Canberra landmarks were some of the ways we reflected the LGBTIQA+ community in this report.

Publication design can be interesting and even fun. Creating opportunities for real stories to be reflected through images and easy to follow information is all part of making information accessible to a broader audience, and creating meaningful impact for our communities.
