Yarra Coffee

Packaging design

One of our favorite projects to work on so far this year has been working with a small batch coffee roaster in the Yarra Valley, Yarra Coffee. Combining our love of coffee and embracing the Yarra Valley beauty, we created a complete set of illustrated labels for over 20 coffee types.

The client needed a refresh of their label, something that was easy to use in-house with hand packaging and printing but stood our amongst the strong competition of coffee in Melbourne.

Making a local connection

We explored local areas around the Yarra Valley to connect the images and colour choices to the labels. The natural landscape gave us inspiration to include elements like bracken, ferns, grasses, flora and animals local to the area like Kookaburra’s.

Jacq grew up in the Yarra Valley, with a love for the tall tree’s and dense ferny bushland, it was easy to create a set of labels that reflect the micro detail of this beautiful place.

Respecting the unique origin’s of each coffee

Every coffee bean that is roasted by Yarra Coffee come’s from a unique origin somewhere in the world. All of the bean’s have their own flavour characteristic that’s unique to where it has been grown. By creating a vibrant set of labels, we wanted to respect the care and craft that has gone into growing, processing and roasting of the coffee.
